Photo Journalists now required to use iphone camera basics?

Are reporters now replacing photographers?  does the Chicago Sun times really think the iPhone is the answer to all of their photographic needs?  Has the iPhone become so sophisticated that we don't need our DSLR cameras?  Will the fun apps capture the those close-ups of the award winning photos?

I happen to love my iPhone, and all it has to offer but I am not ready to make it my only camera source.
